What will happen if my renewal EAD is still in the process while my current EAD is going to expire soon (in a week's period)?

Can I work during the expired period?

Please help..:confused:

No you shouldn't work during that expired period..and resume to work after you get new extension EAD card.

Go ahead. By the time labor and I-140 gets approved, it could be close to two years based on current processing rate. At that time you will have a much better picture and can decide whether to file the I-485 or not. If the employer is willing to sponsor, why not?

Hi - I am currently on an L1 blanket visa and it looks like my company will sell the unit I work for in the US. The parent company will sell the US division - I am currently in the process of applying for my GC - with the I40, and I485 both pending. I had my biometrics done today.

Want to gain some views on what my options are if the GC route does not pan out. I am on a UK passport, and would like to remain in the states. The GC is an employment based application - which is apparently quick, but I want to have a plan B. Is the next best option the H1B, and if so, will I be able to apply for this (if needs be) inside the US with another company if they are prepared to take me on?

IV Team,

I'd filed my concurrent EB2 I140+I485 on Aug 17, 2007 at the Texas Service Center. I have been trying to check the status of my I140 petition online for the last 3-4 months. Every time i try to do so, i get the following error message:

"Case Status Retrieval Failed. This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system"

Am I the only one with this problem ? or are there others experiencing the same issue ?

I m not sure but I think he has to wait till he gets his citizenship . The other way to apply for Tourist or student visa. Tourist visa will be for short time and student visa will be hard to get if the Husband is Green Card holder.
Again, I m not 100% sure of this. some experienced people may be able to give you detailed information
