Well explained.
Most of EB2 falls into : 1.Advanced Degree-(where most of us fall into ) it is either masters or Bachelors+5 years
Till now there is no proposal to change the above.
The internal memo is for Extraordinary Ability quota, and it is in comment period. It is not implemented yet.

thats why aila lawsuit is important, if they can bend the rules for consular processing and a lot of other mischief for eating up 60k visas then they can bend there rules for giving us EAD as well when bulletin is revised.
See what I was saying. They are not supposed to grant CP appointments and approvals in July per the regulations. They have decided to bend the rules to approve the currently pending 485s and CPs. They came up with this lame excuse that since the visas were already shipped out to the consular posts ................yada yada. Point is as I said they can't do 18K CP applicatrions in a day at the consulates the way they seem to have done for the 485s. Even this I am not sure.
I doubt whether they have sent out all 60K 485 approvals either, they probably will in the course of the next month or thereabouts.
I'll say it again, they want 485s out but they don't want them in for whatever reason. It is getting clearer.

It is not my intention to make anyone feel guilty. Taking you there doesn�t solve my purpose. It is very momentary and there is a sense of regret for both of us, if this happens. Pardon my intrusion here! I searched various forums but I couldn't get any solid threads on visa number because it is so common term the search always yields wrong threads! so can some one tell me..what is a visa number after filing 485? is it same a A # ? or is there another number besides A#? Do we see it on 485 reciept? if not how do I find out? I

In my area there is no Infopass appointment available before my departure. What is the difference between departing with approval notice in hand and
with knowing that application has been approved but depart without the physical approval notice in hand before departure and get it aborad if my friend mail it to my place in abroad and later entering with that . Anybody could help in this situation with some advice.

I am for it ( without diluting our present progress).
In fact it is the real date which makes sense & also provides relief to all H1-B new or old. New guys can peacefully change their jobs till their PD becomes current & do not get screwed by employers

EB2 requires Masters or 5 years of experience. For those waiting in the queue for more than 5 years should automatically qualify for EB2 because they have 5 years of experience. I dont care the fine wording that says the job needs Masters or 5 years of experience. We should push lawmakers for this option to reduce the huge backlog. What do others think of this option and start a campaign for it?
Experience gained on the same position for which labor was filed, is not counted.
Logic being that it would be seen as on job training and they could have
easily hired a US citizen with less or no experience and trained him as well.
So the experience should be before joining that position as temporary worker.
Person offcourse can chose to quit the company and join another company
and file in EB2.

one of those who got labor approved fast from BEC...and slipped thru quickly....yes, I mean quickly even though it took 2.5 years

Some updates: I talked to two different lawyers and both advised differently on this issue. In fact I got the impression that one of them didn't have much clue as much as some experienced IV members have. (He said if job titles are different than you have issues...) There are many people hanging on to their current employer due to confusion on this issue and potential effect on pending GC.
and the great question continues to haunt: can a person keep working legally on EAD status if his/hers I-485 gets revoked in error by CIS? or he will be forced to resign from a new job when his MTR is being filed or in progress??? This is really killing me. Who has the answer? if anyone knows, please please share!

no. of h1b issued in last 4 years 65kX4= 260k
even if you double that (which i m sure is not the case), still it come to 500k.

thats all the more reason to recapture visa numbers ... forever.
If they hit 90-95% of the target for the current year - the following year the exact number will be known - and that can be allotted

my PD is March 2003. I filed in EB3 because all EB categories are current at that time.
