Hi,
I filed the i-140 last October, and didn't hear anything until May 2007 when i received an intent to deny. After speaking to the attorney he put the wrong name on the application! He fixed that then forgot to send the check!
So we refiled a new I-140 again PP, and referenced the labor certificate in the old case that we appealed.
They looked at the new case, and put in a request to get the original labor cert from the old case, which took about two months.
I received approval yesterday.

Hi metguh!
You cannot adjust the brightness of an object in Blend. What you can do, though, is alter the opacity or transparency.
For best practice from going from PS to Blend, what I would do is rasterize the image and import that image into your Blend project. Silverlight supports images that are PNG and JPEG.
Cheers!
Kirupa :)

Hi
I am currently on L2 visa with EAD and working for a company as direct employee. My wife is in L1. Both of our visas,I-94 and my EAD are valid till OCT-2010.
My wife has to go back to India as her current project is over.
My question is can a L2 visa holder with EAD stay back and continue working in U.S.A, after L1 has left the country ?.
Any information regarding this is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

In staccato movements, our post-health-care President seemed to have found his rhythm: 15 recess appointments, a yet-to-be ratified arms-reduction treaty with Russia, and a world-leaders' conference on nuclear nonproliferation, the first such gathering since President Franklin Roosevelt convened the precursor meeting that would lead to the formation of the United Nations. Why then is he (and his usually powerful Michelle) showing timidity around comprehensive immigration reform (CIR)? No doubt the recent flip-flop of Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader, hasn't helped. Over the weekend Reid promised to make time on the calendar for CIR, only to backtrack a few days later....

At least six federal lawsuits are pending which challenge the USCIS' interpretation of the "automatic conversion" clause of the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA) of 2002. In one of these lawsuits, Costelo v. Chertoff, a Federal Judge has certified a nationwide class of family-based derivative beneficiaries. We link to each of the cases referred to in this article from our "CSPA" page at http://shusterman.com/cspa.html The question addressed by this article is how much, if any, deference should the Federal Courts give the BIA's recent decision interpreting CSPA's automatic conversion clause. Matter of Wang, 25 I&N 28 (BIA 2009). The automatic...

Guys, My appeal "I290B" for a denied I140 under EB3 category was submitted on March 5th 2008 to TEXAS service center AAO.
I have 2 questions in tracking the application
1) Are all I290B's processed initially where I140 is denied and then later sent to DC office, or completely processed by TSC.
2) If the applications are sent to DC after review by TSC. how long does TSC take to review the application before forwarding to DC and how long will DC require to process the application to close the case (I know total is 14 months for EB3)

Hello,
I had E-Filed AP for me and my family on July 7th, 2008. Still it is showing as pending, On December 16th, 2008, I send a request to USCIS for expedite processing, December 26th I received a letter from USCIS that an officer is assigned to our case but after that there is no change in the status.
Can somebody pls suggest any steps that I should take to get my AP approved?
Thanks in advance

I am currently attending a college here in China. However, I have been offered some interesting jobs . These jobs require that I have a resident visa. I have been told that I can't change from a student visa to a resident visa, while in mainland China. Is this accurate? If so, is Hong Kong an option for me?

Hi everyone, I applied for H1B last year and my employer said my application was not selected in lottery. This year a different employer is applying for my H1 and the lawyer today told me that I already have an approval and gave me a receipt no. When I checked its status online, its - 'Approval notice sent on 29th August 2007'.
I wonder how this lawyer is saying this is my approval, eventhough I was told by my employer last year that I didn't made through lottery. And now this lawyer is asking for the copy of that approval which I am not at all aware of. If I knew I already have the approval I wouldn't be applying again this year.
How did this lawyer found out about my approval receipt? Is there a provision for them to check? Will it be illegal if my application goes again, with an existing approval. I have never been to USA.
Please suggest, what should I do.

For those of you who either are residents (Citizens or PRs) or Canada or have been thinking about becoming residents of Canada but working in US, please share your experience in terms of:
1. How you maintain your residency (or non-residency) in both countries.
2. What are the tax implications if you maintain residency in both countries,
specially if you own property in Canada.
I have heard stories about tax implications in Canada if you own property there even if you permanently live an work in the US. Is that true? Would you be considered a resident in Canada for tax purposes just because you own property (such as vacation homes) but live permanently in US.
I currently own a property in Canada but have been living and working in US for past 8 years and really worried about any tax implications in Canada because of the property. Any help would be very much appreciated.
